Q. What information must be included when submitting a background check request?
A. Applicant's full name (including aka's and maiden name), current address, Date of Birth (DOB) and social security number. (Additional information may be required for more in depth searches.)
Q. Does SSES require signed consent forms to conduct background checks?
A. Yes.
Q. How long does it take to complete a background check?
A. While many reports will be available the same day that they are submitted, others may take up to 72 hours.
Q. Are there additional charges for researching aka's and maiden names?
A. Yes. To accurately report on an applicant's background, all names used by that applicant should be investigated individually.
Q. Does SSES provide employment screening on a nationwide basis?
A. Yes, nationwide searches are available. We recommend a consultation with one of our investigators prior to initiating nationwide searches.
Q. Is it Legal for me to ask for an applicant's date of birth?

Q. Do I need special software to use SSES's website?
A. No. SSES uses a web-based infrastructure that encrypts all the data submitted.
Q. How will I know a search is complete?
A. Once the report is complete, it will be posted within your portal as a PDF and an email notification will be sent to the requestor.
Q. Are there any monthly charges or set up fees with SSES?
A. No. You are only billed for the searches requested.
Q. Is there a monthly minimum to use SSES's service?
A. No.
Q. Is SSES a member of NAPBS?
A. Yes.
Q. Does SSES conduct background checks on its office personnel and employees?
A. Yes. We take the security of your information very seriously. All Investigators, associates and employees have been fully investigated by SSES's senior/lead investigators.
Q. Can I customize the reports to fit my needs?
A. Yes. SSES will work you with to provide the information you need in a format that suits your needs.
Q. Can I have multiple users on my account?
A. Yes, with your written approval, we will provide each person with their own login and password so that you can track all requests.
Q. Can more than one user view the results of searches submitted?
A. Only authorized users that the client has approved will have access to the information. SSES will customize your account to fit your needs.
Q. Some of our employees are minors, are minor background checks available?
A. Yes. However, criminal records for minors are often sealed.
